3 Types of Content Your 2022 Instagram Strategy NEEDS

If Instagram GROWTH is a major priority for you in 2022, the good news is, there has NEVER been a better time to grow on IG. There are so many exciting things going on with the app & I am here to break them all down for you & give you the Instagram strategy you need to actually get the results you want for your Instagram this year.

This week, I want to share something that is essential if you want more followers and a seriously engaged audience:

You need to be taking advantage of all the different types of content on Instagram if you want to get the best results possible. 

If you’re thinking, Reels are the #1 type of content you should be making, you are right…

…but they aren’t the ONLY type of content you should be making if you want to see the MOST growth on Instagram.

Here’s a breakdown of the 3 types of content you need to include in your 2022 Instagram strategy if you want to get more followers, boost your engagement & use your IG to grow your business, too. 

#1 Reels

Reels help you reach new people.

I can’t say this enough, but Reels really are the best type of content to help you reach new people & get new followers. 

I was stuck on Instagram and just not seeing the growth I wanted, even though I was posting…all the time. I was in my Stories, I was uploading selfies and I was making sure my feed was so pretty and aesthetic. But after a whole year of trying to grow, I was just not getting results. 

Then everything changed! I started making Reels and consistently showing up with short video content and I doubled my following in less than a year. So, I know it’s possible to see explosive growth, but you need to be using Reels to get there! 

And I’m not the only person who saw incredible growth thanks to Reels…1,000’s of my students have, too.

And it’s in large part because Instagram has said it’s no longer a photo-sharing app. It’s a video app that is prioritizing video content…aka REELS!! This means Instagram is much more likely to push your Reel out to a broader audience than any other type of content. 

#2 Stories 

Stories help you sell.

Stories don’t help you reach new people or get new followers…but that doesn’t mean they’re not a key part of your Instagram strategy. 

And that’s because posting Stories consistently helps you turn your followers into a seriously engaged, loyal community of people who are super invested in you & your business.

Because you know what…the most important thing you need in order to sell to your audience is…

…for them to know, like & trust you. 

→  When people feel like they know you, they are so much more likely to buy from you because they have a real connection with you.

→  When people feel like they like you, they are so much more likely to buy from you because they are genuinely interested in you & your business.

→  When people feel like they trust you, they are so much more likely to buy from you because they see you as an authority in your niche. 

Posting Stories is one of the BEST ways to build the ‘know, like, trust’ factor with your audience & to sell to them without reeeeeeallly selling. 

But that’s not the only reason you need to consistently share Stories in 2022…

You should also be posting them because they help your other posts perform better! You can use your Stories to let your followers know about your latest Reel or a Carousel you just posted and they will get better results when you do.

#3 Carousels 

Carousels help boost engagement.

Carousels are KING when it comes to engagement. They are a must-have part of your Instagram strategy because they help signal to the Algorithm that your posts are seriously valuable—and that will help you no matter what type of content you are posting! 

Why?

Because they keep people on your page WAY longer than any other type of content. When you create a Carousel, you get up to 10 slides to keep your audience entertained. That means they have to swipe, swipe, swipe through in order to get all of your tips or see the full transformation.

Plus, Carousels are one of my favorite types of content to create when I want to teach my followers something. They are perfect for educational posts because you can break up your tips or lessons into individual slides. This makes everything SO digestible & engaging for your audience so you can create content that is truly valuable for them.

If you are wanting more followers, you neeeeeed to be adding value for your people. And Carousels help you do that.

In 2022, you need to be making all 3 of these types of content if you want to see the most growth for your Instagram. 

→ Reels will help you reach new people & get new followers

→ Stories will help you build a deeper connection with those followers & will help your other posts perform better

→ And Carousels will boost your engagement
