It’s Seth, here. For those of you who don’t know me yet, I’m Sarah’s business partner here at Soul Fox Living & The Soul Social. Every Monday inside the Soul Social Insider’s Facebook Group, I go live for ‘Mindset Monday,’ where I talk about business and personal growth-related topics. Today, I’m taking over Sarah’s blog to talk to you about unlocking maximum productivity.
It’s one thing that I consider the biggest differentiator between people who are successful and people who aren’t. It can be hard to improve your productivity if it’s something you haven’t tried to do before, but it’s such an important thing to master for your business.
When you can figure out how to maximize your productivity, you are unlocking unlimited potential for growth. So, if you are struggling to grow your business and move toward your goals, this is how to achieve success:
Productivity Key #1: Find Clarity
Clarity is about having a clearly defined vision & understanding your life’s purpose. If you don’t first take time to figure out why you’re doing what you’re doing & where you want to go, you won’t get anywhere!
One of the biggest mistakes I see business owners make is that they don’t seek clarity. They’re not digging deep to figure out what’s important to them and what their end vision is for their business.
This is so key when it comes to productivity because without clarity, you’re not going to be able to set goals & achieve them. You’ll be working towards something, without really knowing what that is. Plus, you’ll be much more likely to give up when things get tough because you don’t know why you are doing what you are doing.
Before anything else, seek clarity for yourself, your life, & your business. It is the first key to unlocking maximum productivity because it gives you a roadmap to success. It allows you to take action because it shows you exactly how you are going to achieve your goals.
Productivity Key #2: Take Consistent Action
You need to take action in order to become this higher version of yourself that is productive. Rise above your default setting which is ‘inaction’ to consistently make moves toward achieving your goals.
All ‘action’ really is, is the opposite of inaction. And, I’m not talking about having a specific plan or strategy. Action does not have to be a major change. Action simply has to be something. Anything, really. As long as you are doing! As we take small actions, they build upon themselves, & this is why taking consistent action is the second key to unlocking maximum productivity.
And this is so exciting! Action is a call to be fully engaged with life & to achieve all your dreams. It’s how you express who you are. Because if you don’t take action, you are not living up to your potential.
One thing that we have to tackle if we want to achieve consistent action is to figure out what’s standing in the way of you taking action. What are those things that are holding you back? We think we need a strategy and a plan before we take action. But that is not how we move forward in life. We actually progress and move forward in life a little bit at a time, and that’s by taking consistent action. Once you learn to take consistent action, your life will be changed forever.
Productivity Key #3: Achieve Self-Awareness
As we take consistent action, we are going to fail a lot. And from that failure, the building blocks to our success will rise to the surface and help us make a plan to achieve our goals. But, if we don’t recognize that plan, it’s useless to us.
Self-awareness is the ability to look at yourself without judgment. Because if you can do that, you can be aware of who you are. It starts with the understanding that you are not supposed to be perfect. What you are supposed to do is learn from your failures & turn them into tools that pave the way for you to achieve your goals.
Let go of the idea that your journey is supposed to be perfect & stop comparing yourself to others. This is how you become self-aware. It’s the third key to unlocking maximum productivity because self-awareness is our ability to see the path in front of us & understand where to go next. And this is hard! It is not easy to be self-aware—it’s a life-long journey to get there. But, the key is to pursue self-awareness & to recognize that failure is a crucial part of the process if we want to achieve success.
When you break out of the thinking that you need to have a perfect plan, know exactly what you’re doing or have a strategy in place, you will be able to take consistent action and gain clarity. These three things all make it possible for you to master productivity.
