3 Tips That Drive New Sales in Stories

Selling on Instagram doesn’t need to be scary or intimidating. It doesn’t need to feel gross or sleazy. The truth is you have a perfect opportunity to solve a problem for your ideal client with your product or service. Selling can be something that is actually really fulfilling and meaningful….

…IF you do it right! 

Today I want to unpack the most effective ways to show up in your Stories if you want to convert your followers into customers. For best results you will want to focus on creating these 3 types of Stories. 

 ✨ ‘Know’ Stories, ‘Like’ Stories, and ‘Trust’ Stories ✨

I’ll break down each one for you and give you some examples you can start using today! 

But first let me tell you why they are important. In order for people to buy from you, they need to first like you, feel like they know you, and trust you enough to invest in whatever it is that you are selling. If you want to be more effective at selling to your audience, you need to create content that helps you in these 3 areas. 💕

Simply put, you need to be posting Stories that help you get your followers to know you, like you & trust you.

✔️ Followers are much more likely  to buy from you if they feel like they know you & have a real connection with you. 

✔️  When people feel like they like you, they tend to be more genuinely interested in you & your business; therefore, more likely to buy from you.

✔️ & most importantly when you earn someone’s trust, they believe you when you provide a solution to their problem through your product or service. 

Social selling is about showing up in an authentic way. You have knowledge and resources that can help others. There is no need to badger or push. You don’t need the perfectly curated sales script & you definitely don’t need to blindly reach out to each person in our contact list in order to get sales.

When I was in high school my friends and I would pass notes with all sorts of questions. ‘’What’s your favorite song?” ‘Who’s your celebrity crush?” “ What’s your favorite candy?” It seems silly and maybe even trivial, but that’s how we built friendships- we figured out the things we had in common and learned from the things we didn’t. ‘Know’ Stories are all about building connections and finding things in common. Stories are the perfect place to show off your personality and connect on a more personal level with your audience. You can speak to them directly, ask questions, take polls, and seriously get to know your followers and let them get to know you. 📝

Post ‘Like’ Stories

Like I mentioned earlier, you need to be posting content that lets your followers feel like they know you well enough to genuinely like you if you want to sell on Instagram. Remember your personality is going to attract your people & your people will look forward to your posts every time you show up. This is the group that will be so excited to see what new products you are releasing and to find out how they can support you and your company. Stories are less curated or choreographed then Reels and Carousels which is why they are one of the best features on Instagram that you can use to get people to like you! 💕

This is what you need in order for people to buy from your business.🫱🏼‍🫲🏽
