If you\u2019ve ever been filming Reels & wanted to use both hands to point or gesture, it might be a good idea to pick up a tripod. But, not all tripods are created equal! I spent time looking for one that would stay upright when I\u2019m filming horizontally and<\/em> in portrait mode. Some tripods come with a remote, which makes it even easier to film Instagram Reels, especially if you\u2019re filming solo. And others are adaptable for both phones and larger cameras. There are lots of great tripod options, and it\u2019s one tool that I reach for all the time!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n While I absolutely love to film Reels using natural lighting, it\u2019s not always possible! When it\u2019s a cloudy day or I have to film in the evening, I can\u2019t find a bright spot near my window to use as my backdrop. In those situations, I use lighting to help me make sure my content is bright and beautiful. You can pick up a ring light if you\u2019re often filming close-up selfie shots, box lights if you want more subtle lighting that can cover larger ground, or both so you can figure out the perfect combo. While ring lights, diffusers, and alternative sources of lighting aren\u2019t necessary to making Reels, they definitely make it easier to squeeze in film time whenever you have a few spare minutes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you need to film somewhere & you don\u2019t want to keep playing your Reels audio<\/a> out loud, wireless earbuds come in handy! They\u2019re also great if you need to record voiceovers or add your own audio to your Reels. Plus, they are easy to cover up with your hair, so you don\u2019t have to worry about them showing up in your videos.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another audio tool that can come in handy is a microphone — especially if you frequently create content using voiceovers. Sure, you can record audio on your phone using the speaker on any old headphones, but if you want to boost the quality of your audio, it\u2019s a good idea to pick up a microphone. There are tons of different kinds you can choose from, so it\u2019s a good idea to do a little research before you decide which one will be the best for your Instagram Reels recording setup!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can use different areas around your home as the backdrop for your IG Reels videos. Or, if you have the time & effort to invest in some new settings, consider picking up backdrops, accessories & other home decor items that will help you create different \u2018sets\u2019 for your videos. You can mix & match decor items that are on display to make it look like you\u2019re filming from different areas when you\u2019re actually in the same space.
